Cloud Products

smhi is responsible for the development of five cloud products based on polar satellite imager data.

Below we give a short summary of the five pps products. For further details on the products and the NWCSAF in general please go to the NWC SAF Help Desk. Here you may also acquire the pps software in order to run on your own locally received (direct readout or other) data.

The Product Generation Elements (pge's) developed at smhi:

• Cloud Mask (cma)
• Cloud Probability (cma-prob)
• Cloud Type (ct)
• ctth (Cloud Top Temperature & Height)
• Cloud Microphysics (cmic)
